Welcome to CoBills. By downloading, installing, or using the CoBills mobile application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use CoBills. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement.
2. Account Responsibilities
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information when creating your account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
- Not share your account credentials with others
3. Household Features
CoBills allows you to create or join households to split bills with other members. By joining a household:
- You consent to sharing bill information (titles, amounts, categories, split details) with other household members
- You understand that income ratio percentages (not dollar amounts) may be visible to other members when income-based splitting is enabled
- You acknowledge that bills you create within a household are visible to all household members
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
- Interfere with or disrupt the App's services or infrastructure
- Use the App to transmit harmful, offensive, or misleading content
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App
5. Financial Disclaimer
CoBills is a bill-splitting and expense-tracking tool. It is not a financial advisor, accounting service, or tax preparation tool. The App does not provide financial, legal, or tax advice. Split calculations and debt tracking are provided for convenience only. You are solely responsible for verifying amounts and settling debts with your household members.
6. Intellectual Property
All content, design, code, and branding associated with CoBills are the property of CoBills and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the App without prior written consent.
7. User Content
You retain ownership of any data you enter into the App (bill names, amounts, notes, etc.). By using the App, you grant us a limited license to store and process this data solely to provide the App's services to you and your household.
8. Service Availability
We strive to keep CoBills available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the App (or any part of it) at any time with or without notice.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CoBills and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to:
- Errors in bill calculations or split amounts
- Loss of data due to technical issues
- Disputes between household members regarding shared expenses
- Any financial decisions made based on information displayed in the App
10. Termination
You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we determine to be harmful to other users or the App.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
